Innovations Add To Total Cleaning Offer

With more and more pressure on in-house and contract cleaning teams to deliver better results faster and at lower cost it pays to look for new and alternative products and tools. Diversey Care continues to innovate in order to provide superior cleaning performance, improve productivity and enhance sustainability to help cleaning teams meet these objectives.

Cleaning machines continue to evolve with new features and functions that support even higher levels of productivity and performance. Perhaps the most striking innovation in the last year or so has been the introduction of TASKI Intellibot - the TASKI swingobot 1650 robotic scrubber drier is the first fully-automated commercial cleaner available in the UK and Europe.

This revolutionary machine can, once programmed using simple instructions, work on its own with minimal direct supervision to clean large areas quickly and efficiently following a predetermined path. This can improve the economics of cleaning by significantly boosting productivity, saving up to 80% on labour costs and using up to 85% less water and chemicals than when cleaning floors with conventional equipment.

The TASKI Intellibot is ideal for applications in unobstructed areas such as corridors, conference rooms, sports halls and similar spaces. Early users of the TASKI Intellibot machines have identified specific application benefits such as improving productivity and reducing overall costs. At the simplest level, by working autonomously, robotic cleaners liberate an operative who would previously have spent a large part, if not all, of their working day walking behind or riding on a cleaning machine. That person can now focus on additional duties while the robot works on its own. In effect, that operative is now doing the work of two people with the machine enabling “hands-free” cleaning. Given that labour represents the largest cost component of any cleaning activity it should not be hard for service providers to make a business case for robotic cleaning. The more the machine is used, the easier the case is made.

Advances have also been made with conventional scrubber driers. Many of these developments enable even greater efficiency and performance in particular applications or settings, offering incremental advantages over previous-generation machines. A good example of this is the TASKI swingo 2100 micro ride-on scrubber drier which is ideal for busy and confined areas because of its ultra-compact design and tight turning circle.

One of the main features of this machine is its offset cleaning capability. The mechanism can project to one side to clean right up against a wall or obstruction. This removes the need for secondary detailed cleaning using smaller machines or a mop and bucket which means there is an immediate increase in efficiency and productivity. The offset mechanism can also work underneath any protective low-level barriers which can restrict access for most other ride-on cleaning machines.

Another key feature is the machine’s “active sitting” driving position that supports the operator in the ideal posture and reduces fatigue while allowing easy access for maximum productivity. Because the operator can get on and off more easily and quickly they can spend more time on useful work.

The machine also incorporates low-energy LED lighting that allows longer operating periods without drawing excessive battery charge. This is ideal for low ambient lighting applications where the LED lights provide excellent illumination of the working area but more generally promotes machine visibility to raise awareness and improve safety.

There have also been some interesting innovations across Diversey Care’s comprehensive cleaning chemical offering. The new SURE range of plant-based, 100 per cent biodegradable cleaning products is ideal for cleaning teams who want to demonstrate the very highest levels of environmental responsibility. The 18 products in the range cover all routine and daily cleaning requirements in kitchens, washrooms and personal care. In most settings all daily tasks can be completed using just three or four products.

The entire SURE range is manufactured from environmentally-responsible plant-based ingredients from renewable resources. These are typically derived from by-products of the agri-food industry originating from sugar beet, maize, straw bran, wheat bran and coconut. The products contain no artificial dyes, perfumes, quats, chlorine, phosphates or oxide compounds. They meet typical eco-certification criteria and, where applicable, all are EU Ecolabel certified or have approval pending. Most are non-classified and have been formulated to achieve the lowest hazard classification.

Like many other products in the extensive Diversey Care range, SURE products are available as ultra-concentrate formulations for use with the innovative SmartDose dilution control platform. This offers in-house and contract cleaning teams an ideal way to introduce highly sustainable ultra-concentrates into any cleaning operation. It is compact, portable and requires no connection to a water supply. A unique dual-dosing capability saves time because users can prepare solutions accurately and consistently for two different applications - sinks, buckets, spray bottles, cleaning machines, depending on product and configuration – using the same container. In doing so they can deliver superior professional results while maximising safety and gentleness for people and the environment.

Innovations such as the TASKI Intellibot and TASKI swingo 2100 micro scrubber driers, the SURE range and the SmartDose ultra-concentrate platform offer new capabilities for in-house and contract cleaning teams while enhancing performance, sustainability and value. These and other innovations ensure cleaning teams can continue to source all of their supplies from one company, a global leader in cleaning and hygiene.
