All The Pieces Fit For Jigsaw At Multimodal
Stand: 1030

Managed transport specialist Jigsaw makes its fifth appearance at Multimodal (Stand 1030) this year. The company will be showing how its innovative approach to optimising the transport component of logistics and distribution operations delivers excellent service and value with complete scalability and commercial flexibility for customers in the food, drink and white goods sectors.

“Multimodal has become a key date in our calendar because we meet the right profile of prospective customer, discuss with visitors how the market is evolving and explain why our unique network model reduces supply chain complexity and cost,” says Andy Humpherson, Jigsaw’s Managing Director. “Over the years we have developed some excellent relationships that started at this event.”

When Jigsaw was established in 2003 it had a vision of a new business model for the transport sector during the 21st century. Using the resources of regional network Partner Hauliers with regional expertise it would create highly efficient national managed transport services that were flexible and sustainable with reduced complexity and cost. It was a revolutionary idea that at the time went completely against the accepted way of working.

Since then Jigsaw has shown the business benefits of its innovative network model. The company is firmly established as the UK’s leading large-scale managed transport specialist. It has been working with some of the biggest and best known brands to help them build their businesses while removing complexity and cost from the transport component of their distribution operations. Many of its contracts are now into their third, fourth or even fifth generation, demonstrating that these very demanding brand owners recognise the value of working with a specialist partner focused on achieving best-in-class service levels.

Over the past decade Jigsaw has managed the controlled growth of its business in what has remained a highly competitive market during a period of unprecedented economic constraint. The company has ensured the sustainability of its business model by targeting and working with clients where it can build strong relationships, add genuine value and deliver measurable benefits rather than simply chasing every opportunity.

At the same time it has rationalised and developed its network of eleven Partner Hauliers to ensure it continues to offer the highest service levels. Each Partner Haulier has been hand-picked because of its expertise, willingness to work within a long-term partnership and geographic fit to the overall Jigsaw model. All are established and successful second or third-generation family-owned haulage businesses who understand that each customer has individual needs and a one size fits all approach is never enough. By developing strong relationships and bringing the highly developed capabilities of these regional partners together, Jigsaw creates the flexible and scalable national solutions that are at the heart of its unique service offer.

Jigsaw has always taken its corporate responsibilities seriously and operates to the highest possible ethical standards. Its business model has always supported the increasingly demanding sustainability objectives of its clients by ensuring optimum utilisation of transport infrastructure and resources to reduce vehicle movements, road miles, CO2 emissions and cost.
