TAB14/03: Smarter Banner Frames (25 June 2014)

Issue Date: 25 June 2014
Ref: TAB14/03

Banner frames are built using Graphit's modular tube and connector components. Graphit components result in stylish banner frames. Banner frames made with Graphit can be used for any type of display. Graphit joints are secure, robust and resilient to ingres of dust, debris and liquids.

Smarter Banner Frames

Banners and other items can be displayed quickly, easily and professionally with the new modular Graphit® system from Trilogiq. The system’s lightweight composite, aluminium and stainless-steel tubes can be assembled into stylish and innovative banner frames and three-dimensional structures of any shape or size using a variety of easy-to-use connectors. The components are up to 86 per cent lighter than conventional steel-based modular systems which makes them easier to handle and transport.

Graphit is the first fully-reusable system of its kind which makes it ideal for exhibitions or temporary displays because complete lightweight structures can be handled easily between events or disassembled to reduce storage or transportation space requirements. The components produce stronger joints than conventional systems and are resistant to liquids, contaminants and corrosion which also makes them ideal for outdoor use. The system is exclusively available in the UK from the Tube and Bracket Company.

Graphit connectors are manufactured in a range of colours from composite materials including carbon fibre and are up to 60 per cent lighter than comparable steel components. The VeryGrip® coupling mechanism incorporates high performance thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) which provides a highly accurate and secure grip which cannot be over-tightened and does not damage or mark the tube or the joint. All components can be reused as often as required without affecting the structural integrity or appearance of the installation. Graphit is the only system of its kind that offers these benefits.

During assembly the unique and patented interlocking InstantMatch® design allows components to be aligned quickly and easily with complete accuracy. A TPU insert holds the nut and screw in the correct position so that they can be brought together and tightened with one hand using simple tools. Assembly can be up to 30 per cent faster than conventional systems which reduces downtime and improves productivity. When a banner frame or other structure is reconfigured the SoftAdjust® feature allows components to be repositioned quickly and accurately with complete ease. The simplicity and speed of adjustment is designed to encourage users to make modifications to existing structures, for example to accommodate different sized banners, without having to purchase a complete new set of components.

The combination of composite casing with the TPU creates a unique MonoBlok® that ensures the connector grips around the whole circumference of the tube to provide the maximum possible strength and rigidity for the joint. This also resists liquids, moisture and contaminants which together with the use of the advanced materials in the components eliminates the risk of corrosion and damage. Installations retain their reliability and appearance for longer which reduces maintenance and replacement costs.

Graphit tubes are available in a choice of carbon fibre, anodised aluminium or stainless steel in a variety of finishes and shades to complement the colours of the connectors. They can be supplied in 2.5mm gauge for standard applications and 3.0mm gauge for heavy duty applications. Aluminium tubes are 65 per cent lighter and carbon fibre tubes 86 per cent lighter than steel alternatives. Like other modular systems the tubes can be supplied, or cut on site, to any length to create the desired configuration and dimension for the application. The end stops are supplied with clean profile lines to guarantee consistent seating inside the joint.

When maximum strength-of-joint is required an innovative slip ring can be used in conjunction with the connector and tube. This provides absolute protection against joint deformation in the event of a shock or impact and maintains the grip quality over time.

Trilogiq’s extensive range of wheels and accessories can all be used with Graphit to provide users with complete flexibility to design and configure their installations for maximum efficiency and productivity. The weight saving that can be achieved with Graphit allows users to create installations that are easier to handle and move than similar designs constructed using steel components.
