Jigsaw Adds More Pieces To Partner Haulier Network
PC Howard, Nolan Transport, Montgomery Transport Added To Existing Network

Large-scale managed transport specialist Jigsaw has added three Partner Hauliers to its network to provide greater scalability, flexibility and capacity as its business grows. PC Howard, Nolan Transport and Montgomery Transport were selected for their expertise, principal locations, high service levels and ability to integrate with Jigsaw’s ten existing Partner Hauliers.

“These new Partner Hauliers provide transport coverage and infrastructure in strategic locations that will enhance our ability to build large-scale national contracts with scalability and flexibility,” says Andy Humpherson, Jigsaw’s Managing Director. “More Partner Hauliers in more locations, including Ireland for the first time, allows us to configure contracts more easily to exploit route and load synergies and efficiencies to drive down costs and increase service levels which is what our customers demand.”

Peterborough-based PC Howard offers a total logistics solution with a fleet of over 100 vehicles working from three depots in the East of England and a fourth in Swindon. Its transport heritage can be traced back to the 1930s. The company extends Jigsaw’s capabilities in Eastern England with good links to the motorway network and major East Coast ports.

Dublin-based Nolan Transport owns and operates a large fleet of road transport equipment with depots in Ireland, South Wales, Central England, London and Northern France. The company has more than 50 years’ experience in the transport industry. Adding the company to the Partner Haulier network provides Jigsaw with the ability to offer routes in and out of Southern Ireland for the first time.

Newtownabbey-based Montgomery Transport offers a complete transport service and handles over 100,000 shipping movements each year. It operates from sites throughout Northern and Southern Ireland and the UK mainland. The company is owned by Ballyvesey Holdings which also owns existing Jigsaw Partner Haulier, Birds, based in the West Midlands.

“Like all our Partner Hauliers these companies have an excellent cultural fit with our operational model, are established family-run businesses with regional expertise and share similar core values,” says Andy Humpherson. “Integrating their capabilities into our large-scale managed transport contracts will allow us to add even more value for customers in the food, drink and white goods sectors.”

Jigsaw utilises the resources of its Partner Hauliers with regional expertise to create highly efficient national managed transport services that are flexible and sustainable with reduced complexity and cost. The company is now firmly established as the UK’s leading large-scale managed transport specialist. It has been working with some of the biggest and best known brands to help them build their businesses while transforming the transport component of their distribution operations.

Each Partner Haulier has been hand-picked because of its expertise, willingness to work within a long-term partnership and geographic fit to the overall Jigsaw model. All are established and successful second or third-generation family-owned haulage businesses who understand that each customer has individual needs and a one size fits all approach is never enough. By developing strong relationships and bringing the highly developed capabilities of these regional partners together, Jigsaw creates the flexible and scalable national solutions that are at the heart of its unique service offer.
