ANDREW PAGE CHOOSES EMPIRICA FOR NEW NDC

Andrew Page Limited, a major independent distributor of quality vehicle components, has selected the Empirica WMS system from Chess Logistics Technology for use at its new nationwide distribution centre. The new facility is located at Markham Vale in Derbyshire within easy reach of major road links to provide Andrew Page’s branch network with faster stock replenishment.

Yorkshire-based Andrew Page was founded 65 years ago and has over 90 branches with further expansion planned. The company supplies components for cars and vans together with workshop and diagnostic equipment as well as a class leading range of support programmes designed to provide garages and workshops with the very latest services.

“We are maintaining our growth programme with the opening of our Distribution Centre at Markham Vale and we are excited about this significant development in support of our expansion programme,” said Mark Roberts, Managing Director at Andrew Page.

The 100,000ft2 (9,300m2) green field development near Chesterfield will be equipped with a mixture of storage systems including high bay racking and shelving. The Empirica WMS system will go live when the facility opens this autumn. It will operate in all areas of the warehouse in conjunction with Psion mobile computers to provide real time control of stock movements. Integration with the Andrew Page in-house order processing and stock systems will also ensure seamless real time data exchange throughout the business.
